April

April 11, Friday: SCCRS General Meeting, 7:30 P.M

Location: O'Connor Medical Office Bldg., map
Program: How To Water Roses In A Drought

We are honored to have Jolene Adams, President of the American Rose Society (ARS), present a lively talk about How To Water Roses In A Drought.

California goes through cycles of wet and dry. We've all been through this before so this program will help us remember how the needs of our roses can be met. In times of low water availability, it is important to use every methods we can think of to conserve water and re-use it - especially in our gardens. Roses are not "drought tolerant" so this program will give you some ideas on ways to conserve water and still keep the roses alive until wetter times prevail.

Jolene fell in love with roses as a teenager and hasn't gotten over it. Jolene grows over 150 roses of all types - Climbers, OGRs, Minis and Minifloras, Hybrid Teas, Grandifloras, Floribundas, Polyanthas, Austins, Romanticas, Modern and Classic Shrubs. She lectures widely on computing issues, general gardening topics and on roses. Jolene became ARS President at the Fall 2012 ARS Convention.
